Nursery Rhymes

Gracie has been learning nursery rhymes at school the past couple of weeks. She has been so good at reciting them.

They also make fun little things to go with them... Jack & Jill's water pale, and Jack Be Nimble's candlestick.

Another Surgery.

One down & 3 to go... On Friday the 19th I had my first of two Carpal Tunnel surgeries. I had my right hand done. If all goes well, I will have my left done on Oct 3rd. I am going to have my feet done later this year.

BEFORE

AFTER
They wrote "yes" on my right wrist and "no" on my left...a little scary, don't ya think?

School Pictures

Yesterday was Picture Day at school...Isn't she georgeous?

Tag Your It!!

I'm not sure I like this tag thing..besides being one armed this week, I am not a stellar housekeeper. However, this week I have done really well.

So here are the rules: Get a camera (right now) and take pictures of the below listed things in your house as they are currently. No cleaning allowed! AnnDee & Mer, tag, you're it, everone else I know has been tagged!
1. The Kitchen Sink
I do dishes at night...those are breakfast and lunch.

2. The Refrigerator

There is nothing to be said. I clean it out, maybe twice a year.

3. The Bathroom

Believe me or not, but this room was clean. I only noticed the toilet paper snow Kevyn created when I went to take the picture...enjoy her creativity!

4. Self Portrait
Since I only have one functioning hand at the moment, make-up & hair are the least of my concerns..so I went for humerous!

5. Favorite Room

This is where our family usually is, so therefore it's my favorite.

6. The Closet

I do not have those nice big closets like ya'll, but it's functional

7. Favorite Pair of Shoes

Bare feet are really my favorite, but ...

Here are my outdoor shoes.

8. Your Kids or Pets
Kevyn...

Emily & Grace

9. Laundry Room

Which is located in our unfinished basement, notice the lovely black water pipes.

10. Dream Vacation

This is a view from the jaccuzi room at the Hilton in Niagra Falls, Canada.

Sorry about the wierd spacing, but I couldn't fix it. Not in the mood to fiddle too much.

Warm Springs

Our ward was having their annual corn roast. However, this year they finally reopend the Warm Springs LDS Recreation Center in Moapa. The kids had so much fun. Tom had just had his surgery the day before, so grandpa Jones came to help keep an eye on the girls. Since they began swimming they are fearless and I did not want them to drown.

Gracie's Hair

My mother took the two older girls to church with her last Sunday. She told me to make them look EXTRA beautiful to show off to the Branch (not hard to do, my girls are georgeous in their own right.) I got this idea about Grace's hair. The front does not curl well, so I took the curling iron to it and she looks beautiful............this is what her hair is going to look like for picture day at school, I hope...cross your fingers.

Watching Humming Birds. (click the pics to see the birds better)

On Sunday morning Sept. 7, the girls were outside watching hummingbirds at our feeder. These four little birds were fearless. They have given us many mornings of enjoyment. However they have begun to fight. It's two against two...one eats while the companion fights off the other two. The girls keep trying to tell them that there is enough for everyone. Oh, well...how do you explain the laws of nature to a 4 and 7 year old?

Emily could actually call the birds with a little wistle she did, they would answer and show up at the feeder!

Alamo in August

We made S'mores. Kevyn LOVED the marshmellows.

The owners of Windmill Ridge put stuff on their firewood to make it produce awsome colors when it is burned. It was like we were in a fairytale, watching the fire turn green, blue and orange.

Kevyn stayed at the fire, but did not roast marshmellows, Gracie was absolutely terrified, shaking to the bone about the fire, she swore it was going to burn the cabin down...she cried ALLLLL night! Emily is the only one that actually roasted marshmellows, she had a blast.

Fishing on Nesbitt in Hiko, NV

We caught a lot of May Flies ants and weeds, but sadly, no fish.

(yes they are the same one, did you really think I would buy "EACH" thier own? LOL! Ya well maybe, but I didn't.)

Windmill Ridge Alamo, Nevada

We rented the "school house" cabin.

There were two twin beds and one Queen.

Very tall ceilings

The bathroom, the tub was huge. When the girls sat in it you could barely see the top of Grace's head.
